Overview
Department of conservative dentistry & endodontcs forms the form of any dental institutions. It aims to instil didactic and clinical skills in all fields of restorations, nonsurgical and surgical endodontic. The department aims to achieve this by running well structured UG and PG curriculum in compliance with the guidelines laid by Dental council of India and ever evolving field of the subject. With this in mind the department is well equipped and updated with latest armamentarium and concepts. At the same time it also aims to provide affordable treatment to society at large. All our UG and PG clinics are Air-conditioned to provide a comfortable working environment for both patient and student. The department is enriched with a healthy patient flow better than most colleges of eastern zone. The department also boasts of great of enthusiastic faculties with a zeal of constant learning and knowledge sharing thereby driving the department forward.
Undergraduate Curriculum
These are the stepping
stones for the budding dentists who are to make glorious career ahead. The impetus
is always on strong fundamental over which advanced concepts or training can be bult
upon. Each student is closely monitored at all stagesas the are divided into smaller
groups under different mentors with regular discussions and demonstrations. An early
exposure of Post graduate procedures are given as early as II BDS & III BDS level so
as to have more holistic and comprehensive outlook of the subject. The UG clinic is
well equipped with digital radiography, modern dental chairs sterilization
protocols. Interns are provided with guided exposure to rotary endodontics and basic
esthetic procedures.
Postgraduate Curriculum
Post graduates are the
flag bearers of the speciality. A well knit curriculum is followed encompassing the
wide array of scopes of conservative dentistry and endodontics. The PG clinic is
equipped with all the equipped with all the equipments ranging from Dental operating
microscopes apex locators endo motors bleaching units, digital radiography CBCT ets.
Along with conventional endodontic procedures exclusive aesthetic section with
complete dental photography set up and DSD (digital smile design) is at place. There
is an upcoming in house CEREC lab with complete Digital workflow to keep at par with
ever-growing digital dentistry world around. Special stress is on developing
proficiency in both direct and indirect esthetic procedures in accordance with the
biomimetic principles. As per the re quisite of PG curriculum thorough understanding
of research methodology along with these completion is done. The department is also
in sync with present concepts of regenerative Endodonticsand vital pulp therapies
and considerable work is being done. Regular interdepartmental seminars and case
management is part of the curriculum for the better prognosis.
Workshop/CDE
A Constant endeavor is there to
organize CDE/ workshop to enrich ourselves with knowledge and experience from
faculties across India.
