Oral Health Awareness and Education Camp
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Buddha Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Patna, organized an Oral Health Awareness and Education Camp on 1st August 2026 at Gurudwara (Satellite Centre–01) to commemorate Oral Hygiene Day 2026.
The objective of the program was to create awareness regarding the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and to encourage healthy oral health practices among the community. The camp focused on educating patients about the prevention of common oral diseases through simple and effective daily oral hygiene measures.
An interactive health education session was conducted, during which the participants were educated about the importance of brushing twice daily, the correct use of toothbrushes and toothpaste, tongue cleaning, flossing, and the role of a balanced diet in maintaining oral health. A live demonstration of the modified Bass tooth-brushing technique was performed using dental models, enabling patients to understand, practice the correct brushing method and oral hygiene kits were distributed to the patients.
The awareness program emphasized the significance of preventive oral healthcare, regular dental check-ups, and early identification of oral health problems. Patients actively participated in the demonstrations and interacted enthusiastically during the educational session, making the program informative and effective.
The camp was successfully conducted under the Department of Public Health Dentistry with the active participation of Postgraduate student Dr. Shafaque Fatima and Interns Anand and Shreyashi Roy. The initiative served as a meaningful step towards promoting oral hygiene awareness and encouraging healthier communities in observance of Oral Hygiene Day 2026.
